Amazon India Fashion Week Recap
For the 30th year, Amazon presented India Fashion Week, and this past month it was focused around the Spring/Summer 2018 fashion lines. Around 100 designers take part in this event each year, featuring the coming of a new season, with brand new, innovative styles. This year’s fashion week was all about boasting freeing designs and thought-provoking looks in post-independent India. All the different designers created looks that were fun, unique and simply stunning. From bold ocean prints to basic linens and straight lines, the designers brought their A-game when they were creating these looks. It’s hard to pick our favorites, but we decided to pull together a designer we adored from each day and pair it with looks from our collection! This way, you will be able to get a runway look at a more affordable price that is customized for you.
JJ Valaya: On the first day of the fashion-filled week, we saw a designer who hit their 25-year mark as a label. JJ Valaya decided to celebrate traditional Indian styles in his 2018 line. The looks were all about keeping culture alive with classic saris, which showed off gorgeous floral and paisley patterns. To get a similar look, check out our Athens Sari, which is all about channeling dark classic colors, with a touch of mirror work for a little glitz and glamour.
Ikai by Ragini Ahuja: Day two was filled with even more gorgeous designs! We drooled over the floral looks and structured outfits that many of the designers brought to the runway. However, there was one designer who really stood out to us: Ragini Aguja. Her Ikai collection was inspired by tribal prints and silhouettes that we absolutely loved. The simple colors of ivory, black, and red signify strength among rebelling tribes. We couldn’t help but draw a connection to our kurta suit, the Zadar suit set, which is all about keeping the colors simple but the patterns shiny and elegant.

Payal Pratap: Who doesn’t love a good relaxed look? That is what day three was all about. The designers showed off their best laidback looks and demonstrated their love for pastels and bright colors for the spring and summer. Payal Pratap fell right in line with looks that were filled with layered separates and summer dresses. If you are looking for something right up that alley, try our Sandy Sleeve Midi A-line Dress, which shows off a checkered pattern in the same vein of Payal’s looks.

Shivan & Narresh: The fourth and final day was all about luxury. Dark rich tones of navy and burgundy filled the runways, and everyone went crazy for the embellished saris and lehengas. Gold was the number one star of the show. Embroidery and beading was all featuring this shimmering metallic. Shivan & Narresh showed off their love for this look with navy embellished saris and deep floral prints. We are so on board with this entire look, and we want you to be too, which is why you need to check out our Chinutay Lehenga, which features a navy and gold print.
